Genesis Chapter 4

Then Adam knew Eve his wife and she conceived and gave birth to Cain. Then she said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.
She gave birth again to his brother Abel. Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
In the end of days, Cain brought an offering to the Lord from the fruit of the ground.
Abel also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat of it. The Lord had respect to Abel and to his offering,
but He did not have respect to Cain and to his offering. So Cain glowed with anger and his face fell.
The Lord said to Cain, Why have you angrily glowed? And why did your face fall?
If you do well, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do well, sin crouches at the door and its desire is for you, and you shall rule over it.
Cain talked with his brother Abel and when they were in the field, Cain rose against his brother Abel and killed him.
The Lord said to Cain, Where is your brother Abel? And Cain said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?
God said, What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to me from the ground.
Now you are cursed more than the ground that opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.
From now on, when you plow the ground, it will not yield its strength to you, but you shall be a vagabond and a fugitive on the earth.
Cain said to the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
Behold, you have driven me out from the face of the earth today and I will be hidden from your presence+ and will be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth. Anyone who finds me will kill me.
The Lord said to him, Therefore whoever kills Cain shall be avenged seven times. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain so that anyone who found him should not kill him.
So Cain went away from the presence of the Lord and lived in the land of Nod on the east of Eden.
Then Cain knew his wife and she conceived and gave birth to Enoch. Cain built a city and called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch.
Then Irad was born to Enoch. Irad fathered Mehujael. Mehujael fathered Methusael. Methusael fathered Lamech.
Lamech took two wives to himself. The name of the first one was Adah and the name of the other was Zillah.
Adah bore Jabal and he was the father of those who live in tents and with cattle.
His brother's name was Jubal. He was the father of all those who play the harp and the organ.
Zillah also bore Tubalcain. He hammered every engraving tool of bronze and iron. The sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.
Lamech said to his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice, wives of Lamech, listen to my speech. I have killed a man because of my wound, and a young man because of my hurt.
For Cain is avenged seven times and Lamech 77 times.
Adam knew his wife again and she bore a son and named him Seth. For she said, God has appointed another child for me instead of Abel because Cain killed him.
There was also a son born to Seth and he named him Enos. Then men began to call upon the name of the Lord.
